Show Candidates vh tor Qkggii ftiifo Five of the 16 contestants for the title of Miss Iron County Coun-ty for 1972 are presented this week in preparation for the Miss Iron County Pageant to be held Friday, Aug. 25 at the Cedar High School auditorium. Sponsored by the Cedar City Jaycees the Miss Iron County Pageant is the kick off event to the Iron County Fair and a queen and two attendants will be named to reign over the remaining activities, According to Robert Houston chairman cf the event, the contest will begin at 8 p.m. and special entertainment will be presented in addition to the 16 contestants. Contestants Contest-ants will appear in formal wear, bathing suits and each will be judged on poise and personality. Finalists will b,e interviewed by the master ol ceremonies prior to final selection. sele-ction. Mss Jennifer Morris, who has reigned through the past year, wiill be on han to turn over her crown to the new Miss Iron County. Following are five of the 16 candidates vieing for the title: Deborah Lee DeMille, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale DeMille of Cedar City. Seventeen Seven-teen years of age she Is a senior of Cedar High School and she will present a dancing danc-ing number for her special talent. She has had special training in dancing lessons and craft classes. Her ambition ambi-tion Is to teach dancing and to become a wife and mother. Rae Lynn Stauffer, is the 20 Eyear old daughter of Mr. and. Mrs.) David ? Stuff eri , She' makes her residence in Cedar City where she Is a student at Southern Utah State , College., She attended Edgewood High School and graduated from Hurricane High. For hef talent , number she will present a dramatic reading. As to ambitions ambi-tions she is first Seek1 ng a college education, a job and to raiise a family., . Susan Lorraine Rowley Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Rowley of Parowan. She is 19, a graduate of Parowan1 High School and is curently a Junior at SUSC. She desires to be a special education teacher as well as a housewife house-wife and mother. Hart cf Newcastle is an 18 year old candidate for the coveted title. She is a .graduate of Cedar High School and will model and show slides of her sewing skills for her talent number. She is seeking a college col-lege degree In fashion and a career in the fashion world. Eeeky Christensen, of Cedar City, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen of Newcastle. Currently she Is a student at SUSC and is a graduate of Cedar High School. She will sing and play tihe guitar for her talent selec-Uon. selec-Uon. Her ambition is to attend a fashion school. She enjoys all outdoor sports. Next week the final six candidates vieing for the title will be presented.
