Show r Two new wards organized in Cedar City Stakes Sunday In the Cedar West Stake the Ninth, Seventh, Eighth and Eleventh Ward were all involved in-volved in boundary changes to create the new Thirteenth Wa-d. Changes were also necessitated neces-sitated in the Ninth Ward Bishoprc as well as creating a new Bishopric for the Thirteenth Thir-teenth Ward, according to President Hatch. In tlhe Ninth Ward Wilard Thompson and Jack Carter were released as counselors as were clerks Ronald Green and Frank Moffett. Francis Botenson was sustained to continue as Bishop of the ward with Mitchell Lunt as f'rst "ounselor and Bernell Twitch-11 Twitch-11 as second counselor. Four of the six wards comprising com-prising the Cedar West Stake .vere involved in the final realignment re-alignment to create a new Thirteenth Ward in the Cedar West Stake, according to Stake President Conrad Hatch. In the Cedar Stake boundaries boundar-ies were reestablished in the Third and Fourth Ward to create a new ward, the Four-teenth, Four-teenth, according to Stake President A. E. Whatcott. In ibotih instances the realignments re-alignments and addition of wards resulted in a series of changes that were sustained by members in their various , Sacrament Meetings Sunday. so that residents on both sides of 450 West street would become be-come a part of the Eighth Ward reducing total membership member-ship of the Seventh Ward. The boundary between the Eighth and Ninth Wards was moved from 700 West to the middle of the block between 600 and 700 West and the division di-vision between the Ninth Ward and the newly created Thirteenth Ward is 900 West. All of the wards run from Center Street on the north to 600 South with the exception of the 13th ward. Those residing resid-ing south of 600 South and all West of Interstate Highway 15 will be members of the new ward. I By changing tlhe line to the Interstate a portion of the Eleventh Ward also became a part cf the new - 13th Ward creating a change in still another an-other wards boundary. Also included in the new ward is the Hamilton Fort area, according to President Hatch. In the Cedar Stake, two' wards were changed to form a th'ofd ward, the Fourteenth and changes were necessitated in all of the Bishoprics. In the new Fourteenth Ward Garth Leishman was sustained as Bishop wlith Melvin Parker as first counselor and Daryl Yates as second counselor. The newly created 14th Ward includes that section of Cedar City bounded by Main Street on the East, Center Street on the South and 750 West on the West. The south boundary begins at Main Street and 400 South, continues contin-ues west to 200 West then i ii north on 200 West to 200 North Street. At- 300 North t)he division divis-ion line continues West to the west boundary at 750 West. The Third Ward Boundaries have 200 North as the south boundary. The West boundary is 400 West. East boundary begins at the corner of 200 north and 200 west and goes north to 400 north then jogs east to main street. Everything north from those boundary lines are part of the Third Ward. Fourth Ward south boundary Is 200 North with the east boundary 400 West and the west, boundary 750 West. Everything Ev-erything north along those streets continue a part of the ward. |
