Show Panguitch to host south region riding club meet Tiie Red Hill Wranglers are working with the Panguitch, Piute and Hurricane riding clubs to sponsor the South Region Re-gion Riding Club meet in Panguitch on Friday and Saturday, Sat-urday, Aug. 20 and 21. Taking part in this meet will be representatives from five districts, made up of 42 riding clubs from as far north and Payson and Spanish Fork and to Hurricane on the south. As many of 1200 horsemen are expected to participate in this meet. Finalists from this meet will compete with riders from the North Region, for the state finals fi-nals in Heber City. Some of the events featured at the show will be horse racing, cow cutting, pleasure class riding, wild cow milking, calf roping, and dally team roping rop-ing and ribbon pull. The only new event this year is the hide race. This event caused quite a bit of excitement at the district meets. Teams, consisting of five men each will compete in Barrel Bar-rel racing, pole bending, pony express, keyhole, potato and water racing. All of these are very exciting to watch, and generate a great deal of competition com-petition between clubs. The show begins Friday evening, eve-ning, Aug. 20 and continues Saturday morning at 10, and runs until 9 or 10 that night. A big parade will be held at 6 Saturday evening.. Norman Evans, head of the Parowan club and a district director is taking part in drawing up the schedule for the two day event. |
