Show American Legion Auxiliary Dist. school of instruction scheduled All members of the American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary are invited invit-ed to attend a School of Instructions In-structions at the Fillmore Second Ward Church Thursday, Thurs-day, August 19. Registration is at 9:30 ajm. and a luncheon will be served at $2.00 each. Districts 6 and 7 will meet together. ' Department of Utah officers arid chairmen 'will do the instructing. in-structing. Supplies will be issued is-sued and various program material ma-terial displayed for sale. , It is important that all Unit Officers, Unit. Chairmen, District Dis-trict Officers and District Chairmen attend. Reservations are being taken tak-en until August 14, by Cedar City Unit President Marie Memmott, Secretary Zelma Glass or District 7 Secretary Virginia Skougaard for members mem-bers of Unit 7. A membership drive is now being launched in all units. Cedar City Unit 7 would like to ihave all membership dues paid by Octclber 1. New members mem-bers and those renewing their membership are asked 'to contact. con-tact. Membership Chairman Gladys Isom or Secretary Zelma Zel-ma Glass or President Marie Memmott. Mrs. Isom invites all wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and granddaughters of American Legion members to join. She added that the number num-ber of girls from Cedar City High School sponsored for Girl's State depends on the number of members in the Cedar City Unit of the American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary. The 51st annual National Convention will be held in Houston, Texas, The American Legion will meet in the Sam Houston Coliseum and the Auxiliary ' will' meet in the Shamrock-iHilton Hotel, August Aug-ust 27 to September 2. Afton Oborn, President of the Department De-partment of Utah Auxiliary announces that "So many exciting ex-citing events are planned for this year's convention . including in-cluding the big parade which 'will take place the night of I August 30, beginning at 7 p.m. |
