Show Travel to Zion Park passes half million Travel to Zion National Park for the current travel year beginning January 1, exceeded one-half million persons by the end of July. Superintendent Oscar T. Dick reported 55-4,40(5 persons entered en-tered the park during the past seven months compared to 514,373 for the same period per-iod last year, an increase of 8'.r. Dick further stated campground camp-ground use increased from 113,000 to 115,700 during the same period. The Visitor Center, near the South Entrance, is open from 7 a. m. until 9 p. m. to assist as-sist visitors in making their visit more enjoyable. Camp-fire Camp-fire programs are scheduled each evening at South and Watchman Campgrounds. Interpretive In-terpretive talks are also given each evening in the Zion Lodge auditorium. The Kolob Canyon area con-tinues con-tinues to receive many visitors. visit-ors. A Ranger is now stationed at the juncton of 1-15 and the approach road to assist visitors. |
