Millard, winner of th. northern division divi-sion one year, failed to maiw tho stale tournament and none of the eight teams are assured of a spot regardless of how they finished in regular league play. The Region Eight Round Robin basketball tournament to determine four entries to the Slate Class B tournament In March will be lv.dd Thursday, Thurs-day, Friday, and Saturday at St. George in the Dixie High School Gymnasium. Four teams from each division divi-sion of Region Eight will be competing for the coveted Region Re-gion Title and for th.s Stale Tournament berths. Cedar Hodmen will be one of the eight teams as they, attempt to defend their region re-gion title, won for the past three years. The Cedar City quintet will meet Parowan in their opening open-ing round of battle, with' the gam.? set for 4:15 p. m. Other pairings will pit the host Dixie Flyers against Mil-ford Mil-ford in the tournament opener open-er at 3 p. m. In the evening session, Delta Del-ta and Hurricane are scheduled schedul-ed to meet at 7 p. m., and the first finale will pit Kanab against Millard. The Redmen will be hard-pressed hard-pressed to defend their title and will bo fighting to win a berth in the important state meet. Most casaba fans will give the Redmen a slight edge in their opening battle against the Rams, but the second round will be a tough game, win or lose. If they win, they will meet on Friday the winner win-ner of the Delta (winners in the northern division , and Hurricane (who finished fourth in th.; southern division divi-sion I game. That game is slated for 7 p. m. If they should lose, the Redmen will meet the loser at 3 p. m. Friday. Fri-day. Kanab and Delta winners of their respective leagues will be favored to pick up the Region crown in the three day fracas. Only throe games are on tap for the final round of play to be held Saturday evening. ev-ening. Reserve seats for each of the sessions will bo sold at $2.00 each. General admission will be $1.50. Students, how-over, how-over, will have a special rate for all sessions, Region executives exec-utives point out. Delta will have the nod over Hurricane in that opening open-ing battle and Kanab and Dixie, by virtue of their home court, will be expected to win in their opening round of play.
