Show Broad Daylight Lockhart Co. robbed of $556 Investigation is continuing this week into the mid-afternoon robbery of Lockhart Company Com-pany in Cedar City which took place Wednesday, Feb. 19. Turned over to a man presumed pre-sumed to be armed was $556 all in small currency. The robbery occured when only the cashier-clerk, Sherry Harrison, was on duty. A man described as wearing large dark glasses, with an army type coat with a turtle neck sweater underneath, walked into the loaning establishmnt and stated "I need some money." Mrs. Harrison suggested that the man take a seat and wait until the manager, Walter Hansink, returned in a very few minutes. The man then stated that "I want your money now." During the time the man kept his right hand in his jacket pocket and Mrs. Harrison put the cash into a manila envelope that he had pushed across the counter with his left hand. As he left he told Mrs. Harrison Har-rison to sit on the floor. As soon as she heard the door 1 slam she rushed to the back where she called for help from Patrick H. Fenton, who immediately imme-diately notified police. Investigation was undertaken undertak-en immediately and several suspects have already been interrogated in-terrogated in relation to the robbery. However, Chief of Police Stan Davis, indicates that they have not yet filed any complaints. Investigation will continue, however, he stated. Police were again called to action in a burglary at Thor-ley Thor-ley Ford Tuesday evening of this week. A tip from an alert citizen aalerted police and a man was actually found in- ide the building, but escaped to the North temporarily. A suspect, however, is being held waiting formal charges n-connection with the at-.empt. at-.empt. Charges are expected o be filed for Second Degree burglary. Called to assist were the. Iron County Sheriff's Office, Of-fice, the Utah Highway Patrol and several citizens were also nstrumental in the final apprehension ap-prehension of the suspect, Chief Davis stated. |
