Show CSU engineering professor receives grant Richard N. Kimball, assistant assist-ant professor In engineering at College of Southern Utah, has received a National Selene Sel-ene Foundation Faculty Fellowship Fel-lowship to pursue work toward to-ward a doctorate in engineering engineer-ing materials. He Is planning to attend Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif, beginnig in June, 19G9. He has been granted a three-jvar leave from CSU to undertake the advance studies. He joined the faculty at the college in 19G5. Prof. Kimball received a bachelor of scienc.? degree I'rom Utah State University in 19G3. He was awarded a graduate grad-uate fellowship by the Ideal Cement Co. for research and also received the award of the American Society of Testing Test-ing Materials. He obtained a master of science degree from USU in 19G5 after serving as a lecturer on the faculty. While at USU he was vico president of Sigma Tau, honorary hon-orary engineering fraternity. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, En-gineers, American Society of Testing and Materials, and American Society of Photo-grammetry. Photo-grammetry. He has served as an engineering engi-neering aide for the Bureau of Public Roads, Western Pacific Paci-fic Railroad, and Thiokol Chemical Corp., and as a civil engineer for the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation, Dixie Nation; al Forest, Utah State Building Board, and Sandberg Engineers Engi-neers of Cedar City. He presently pres-ently serves as a CSU seismograph seismo-graph attendant. He fulfilled a mission for the LDS Church in the Central Atlantic States from 1956 to 1958. , Prof. Kimball is married to the former Nancy Bryan of Tooele. They are the parents of three daughters. |
