Show July 4 Fireworks display scheduled for 9 p.m. Mayor Kendall O. Gurr informs in-forms us that the fireworks for the evening entertainment on July 4 arrived the first of the week and that citizens of lli'e area are invited to be on hand for this event, the first of its kind to be held in Parowan Paro-wan for many years. The Mayor states that they will bo held along the north side of the city race track in- field, in order to put th'e re-' re-' quired space between the place they will be sot off and the spectator area. The mem-L'eis mem-L'eis of the Parowan Volunteer Fire Department will have the sotting off of the fireworks in charge, with Tom Evans as chief of the department. Spectators are askvd by city officials to gather at the race track parking lot at 9 p. m. and they may sit in the grandstand grand-stand or stay with their cars in the parking lot with ample space for everyone to find vantage spots. Mayor Gurr states that the city and firemen's orsaniza- tion are still in need of contributions con-tributions to defray the cost of the fireworks. Quite a number of businesses and citizens have nlroady made contributions contribu-tions to the fireworks fund, but moi'e are needed. Any one wishing to contribute money to help defray the cost of this event may leave their money at the city office, hand it to Mayor Gurr or any member of the city council, or the firemen's organization. A contribution con-tribution in any amount will be appreciated. |
