Show Independence Day Celebration Friday. July 3, 1970 Iron Rangers Rodeo 8 p. m. New Arena South of Cedar City Saturday, July 4, 1970 6:00 a. m. Good Morning Salute Cedar City Fire Department 9:30 a. m. Parade Will be led by Eagle Scout Color Guard. Residents Resi-dents asked to respect the flag as it goes by (from six paces before the flag comes abreast until six paces beyond). Parade will begin at Safeway Parking lot, proceed north on Main Street to 200 Norlh where it will turn to alley in middle of block. Floats will proceed south up the alley to Foodtown Parking lot where they will remain on display. 10:00 a. m Concession on Park Open Concessions will include fish pond, penny pitch, baseball pitch, ring toss and dart games. 1 10:30 a. m. Flag Ceremony Presented at the City Park by the National Guard Color Guard. 10:45 a. m Concessions continue. Hamburgers, hot. dogs, soft drinks, snow cones, ice cream bars will be available. 11:00 a. m. Patriotic Program Participating will be combined band of senior i and Junior High Schools with an address by Utah Senator Wallace F. Bennett. 12:30 p. m. Games and Contests Races to be held with first, second and third prizes awarded in each race. They will include three-legged race, wheelbarrow race, sack race and footracing for all ages. 8:00 p. m. Iron Rangers Rodeo New Arena south of Cedar City. Fireworks can be viewed from arena grandstand. 9:00 p. m. Fire Works Spectacular Traditional event of Independence, located south of hospital on flood control dike. |
