Show Highway Patrol Prepares Annual Report on Activities of Past Year In actual field patrolling there were 4,877 people contacted con-tacted for traffic violations, 687 public assists recorded Including In-cluding such things as fuel, tires, mechanical, directions and illness. Seven troopers compiled 1670 hours overtime. They served 65 financial responsi-j bility pick-up orders and 48 warrants. Spent 112 hours on checking station Inspections and 122 hours checking school busses. Picked up 47 drunk drivers and 39 stolen cars, spent 72 hours on safety education edu-cation talks and 546 hours assisting other departments. These seven troopers spent 7 days each in in-service training. train-ing. The radio division located In Cedar City giving service to local sheriffs and city police pol-ice and Fish and Game as well as the Highway Patrol, recorded 85,607 transmissions, broadcast 348 emergency messages mes-sages with 147 people being contacted. Broadcast 143 runaways run-aways with 51 being apprehended, appre-hended, 16 missing persons broadcasts with 7 apprehended, apprehend-ed, 181 wanted, 99 apprehended, apprehend-ed, broadcast 1782 stolen cars with 1373 being cancelled. Handled 13 emergency shuttles, shut-tles, 150 flight plans, 1931 auto registrations descriptions. The checking station division divi-sion at St. George checked 99,820 trucks, logged 23,460 radio calls, had 17,040 telephone tele-phone calls and 1800 road Information In-formation calls.
