Show WHAT'S HAPPENING Cedar High School WW i By Jill Carter ; I NAMED ROYALTY. King and Queen of the Cedar City Sweethearts' Ball held this past week were Fred Adam and Stephanie Bess. CHS Sweethearts King and Queen Named and east walls were covered with red paper and white heart cut-outs. Alongs the north end, some giant lollipops lolli-pops surrounded the King and Queen's throne. A stero hi-fi from North East Furniture provided the dancing music. In the lunchroom area, heart-frosted cake and red punch was served. Each girl received a miniature box of chocolates as a favor. Stephanie Bess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bess, and Fred Adam, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Mel Adam, reigned over the hall as Sweethearts King and Queen. They were crowned crown-ed by last years King and Queen, Linda Murock and Deor Jensen, during the floor-show. floor-show. Mace Church sang the theme song, "Lollipops and Roses." Carl Hafen and Kenneth Ken-neth Cox performed an adagio dance. A quartet consisting of Karen Jex, Heidi Hansen, Mel- "Keep her handy, flowers and candy; roses and lollipops, lolli-pops, lollipops and roses." This was the theme song that represented re-presented the annual CHS Sweetheart's Ball Saturday, February 11. The Sweetheart's Ball is traditionally sponsored by the Suah Kahne Pep Club. Kathy Murdock, Susan Murray, Jill Carter and Mary Heywood directed dir-ected this year's activities. The gals and their dates in semi-formal attire started arriving ar-riving at the ball about 9 p. m. Each boy sported a bouton-ierre bouton-ierre in his buttonhole. Pep Club members' dates had red carnations. The girls' gym was arrayed in red, pink, and white. As the couples entered, they dropped their tickets into heart-shaped boxes containing the names of the Sweethearts King and Queen candidates. Picking up a velvet backed dance program, pro-gram, they made their way to the dancing area. The south , lissa Thorley and Brenda ( Bunting sang "They Call the Wind Maria." At the end of the floorshow, Pep Club president presi-dent Jan Jones presented the dance chairmen with valentine valen-tine boxes and chocolates. |
