Show Need for Burning Permits Stressed By Forest Service The 1967 fire season continues con-tinues to be one of the mildest in recent years, according to Dixie National Forest Supervisor Super-visor Jack Shumate, but care in the use of fire is still of utmost importance. Debris burning, the cause of many wildland fires, should be carefully planned and exercised. ex-ercised. Land owners and others oth-ers who contemplate any debris de-bris burning or brush disposal are reminded that burning permits are required during the closed fire season which extends from June 1 through October 31. Such permits may be obtained ob-tained from the local District Ranger if the burning is to be done within or adjacent to the exterior boundaries of the National Forest. Permits for burning in areas outside the National Forest may be obtained by contacting Russ Henson, the local representative representa-tive of the Utah State Department Depart-ment of Forestry and Fire Control, or the County Sheriff.
