Show Petty Wins Sudden Death Playoff For Holiday Victory Cleo Petty walked off with top honors in the 24th of July Golfing Tournament held at the Painted Hills Golf Course Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Mon-day. Petty took the A Flight crown In a sudden death playoff play-off with Wayne Anderson. Both finished the 36 hole tournament in a tie at 158, and Petty picked up first place on the first hole of the sudden death playoff. For winning first' Petty won $20 in golf equipment and Anderson in second was awarded $16 in equipment. Fred Wright captured the B Flight honors with a 36 hole total of 178. Finishing in second place, just one stroke behind, was John Atkins. They also won golfing equipment awarded at $20 and $16, respectively. res-pectively. C Flight honors went to Bruce Wilkins with 188 over the 36 holes. He won $16 in golfing equipment, and equipment equip-ment valued at $10 was accorded ac-corded Ed Auffhammer who finished in second place with a 36 hole total of 193. The Painted Hills Golfing team will participate in the next series of tournaments. In team match play the Cedar City team will travel to Richfield Rich-field to meet Richfield on August Aug-ust 5, and on August 13 a team match against Beaver will be held on the Cedar City course. Brent Orchard, course professional, pro-fessional, also indicated that on August 19 a Scotch Foursome Four-some tourney will be held. The tourney will begin at 6 p. m. and will be over nine holes. |
