Show Little League Play Gets Bye For All -Star Game Baseball play in the Parowan Paro-wan Little League came to a standstill last week end, as several members from all four teams in the league were participating par-ticipating in the tournament in Richfield, playing on Thursday, Thurs-day, Friday and Saturday. Play was to resume on Monday Mon-day of this week with the teams of Burton's 66 and Bank of Iron County to meet. But this game was forfeited to the Bank nine by reason of no one showing up to manage the "66" team. Tuesday night, in a game delayed by rain for a time, the league leading Farmer's Supply team walloped the Lions-Paragonah team by a 27 to 8 score. Keith Rollins was credited with the win in this one and Russell Mortensen Morten-sen sustained the loss when the roof fell in in the third inning on walks and errors, by the losing nine. The schedule for the final week 'of play, starting with Aug. 3, is as follows; 3, Lions-Paragonah Lions-Paragonah vs. Burton's"66"; 4, Bank of Iron Counay vs. Farmer's Supply; 7, Burton's "66" vs. Farmer's Supply; 8, Rank nf trnn Prvuntv vs t.inns. Paragonah, and 10, Burton's "66" vs. Bank of Iron County. Following the end of the regular play, it is planned to hold a series of makeup games caused by postponements for tourney play and 4-H camp. The first of these is planned for Aug. 12, with the rest to be played during the week of Aug. 15, if plans materialize. |
