Show 0 JARN EAGLE AWARDS. These four young men were accorded the rank of Eagle at Court of Honor Sunday. They are, left to right: Steven Hunter, Chris C. Olson, Randy J. Robinson and Kim Hunter. Four Cedar Boys Presented Eagle Awards at Sunday Court of Honor Four Cedar City youths were accorded the coveted rank of Eagle Scout at the Cedar Breaks Court of Honor held Sunday evening in the Cedar West Stake House. The four recipients were Chris C. Olson, Troop 334, son of Mrs. Janice Olson; Kim Hunter and Steven Hunter, members of Troop 379 and sons of Mr. and Mrs. Haze Hunter; and Randy J. Robinson, Robin-son, Troop 371, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Robinson. Presentation of the awards was made by former Bishop Edwin C. Cox. Other advancements were presented along with a host of merit badges to members of tlie various troops. Conducted by Otto Fife, a letter expressing thanks to A Richard Okl for h; ff... ' District Advancement Chairman Chair-man over the past year was "'ad. The letter was signed by each of the scoutmasters Hi the district. Each of the boys receiving the Eagle award was charged with the responsibility of up-nohling up-nohling the traditions and standards of the coveted award. In a letter of applk-a-noil as candidates the boys also listed outstanding actiV-ties actiV-ties during their scouting careers and also expressed what the scouting program las meant to them. Eagle Scout Olson indicated hat "scouting has helped me earn to do my share and it has made me get to know my friends better." Robinson stated stat-ed that he hal gained know-jedge know-jedge of leadership from those in charge of the scout program pro-gram and expressed his thanks for those who assisted 'urn in obtaining the rank of Eagle. For the Hunter brothers, Kim indicated that "I have learned to live as a bachelor, if I oxer needed to. I have learned to survive in the wilderness, wild-erness, if necessary, save a person fron drowning, bleed-i"g. bleed-i"g. or any other injury." For Steven he indicated that "It has helped me have fun with other boys and it will help me when I am older." |
