Friday afternoon the Parowan Paro-wan All-stars did an about face in a game with the host team, Richfield, which had dropped a close one to Cedar City the day before. In the Friday game the Parowan team was the winner, 5 to 4 over their opponents, with Timmy Hyatt going all the way to chalk up the win. After a case of opening day jitters, the Parowan Little League All-Stars, shook of the jinx and by playing some fine baseball, went on to win the consolation trophy in the Little Lit-tle League tournament last week end In Richfield. The Parowan team opened the seven -team meet on Thursday, Thurs-day, meeting the team form Monroe, and went down to an 8 to nothing loss. But this was not too bad, considering that the Monroe crew went on to win the meet and advance to the next competition, this week in Cedar City. Gay- Saturday afternoon Parowan took on the team from Pan-guitch Pan-guitch and had very little trouble trou-ble rolling to a lop-sided 12 to 0 win with Keith Rollins doing do-ing the pitching for the local nine.. Those who made the trips with the team, Larry Top-ham, Top-ham, Eugene Robb, Ken Sim-kins Sim-kins and George Loosley, say that the Parowan team gave a very good account of Itself even in the first game, in which they went down before the eventual champion. |
