Show Committee Elections Scheduled In Early September The approaching election of ASC community committees for farm program administration administra-tion in Iron County was announced an-nounced today by lioyd Chri-tenson, Chri-tenson, Chairman, Agricultural Agricultur-al Stabilization and Conservation Conserva-tion County Committee. I lie called particular attention atten-tion to the fact that the community com-munity committee elections this year are a little earlier than in former years. They are being held during the third week of September in all agricultural c o m m un it i e s throughout the nation in order to increase the awareness of this important farm-program function on eligible voters. The farmer-committee system sys-tem is a unique means of administering ad-ministering national agricultural agricul-tural programs and policies. The community committees assist the ASC county committee commit-tee in administering the price support, acreage diversion, agricultural ag-ricultural conservation, and other farm-action programs in the county; they are particularly particu-larly responsible for keeping their neighbors informed a-bout a-bout the programs. The county committee supervises sup-ervises the ASCS county office and is responsible for the administration ad-ministration of th" various programs. Voting will be by maid, and ballots are being sent to each known eligible voter. In case eligible voters fail to receive a ballot through the mail, one may be obtained at the ASCS County Office, at 95 North Main Street, Cedar City. Generally, Gen-erally, a farm owner, tenant, or sharecropper is eligible to vote if he is eligible to take part in one or more of the programs pro-grams administered by the ASC committees. Questions on eligibility to vote and to hold office or on the election procedure will be determined by the ASC county coun-ty committee subject to appeal ap-peal to the ASC State Committee. |
