Show Bids Are Awarded; Beauiification Plans Outlined by Ciiy Council Bids for the construction of a chain link fence at the Cedar Ce-dar City Cemetery and for materials ma-terials for an expansion program pro-gram at the Cedar City Fire House were opened and accepted ac-cepted at the meeting of the Cedar City Council Thursday. Dan Perkins was awarded the construction of a chain link fence on the East side of the Cedar City cemetery from a point where it was destroyed destroy-ed by flooding two years ago, north to the property line. Bid was in the the amount of $979.50. One other bid was submitted. Southern Utah Lumber was the successful bidder in supplying sup-plying materials for expen-sion expen-sion of the first station with a bid of $1,661.16. It was also indicated tha several citizens had requested use of the equipment on pri-cant pri-cant lots of the city. The Council authorized the use of fthe equipment on private pri-vate land for anyone interested interest-ed at a rate of $7.50 for the equipment and an operator per hour. The city street oiling program, pro-gram, now underway was also al-so reveiwed and one. addition addi-tion approved by the council. The 400 North street between 1400 and 1500 West was approved ap-proved for oiling to facilitate use by residents of that area who have been hampered by the Interchange of Interstate Highway 15 at 200 North street. The oiling will allow residents of 1400 West to enter the residential area on 1500 West and travel North then East to 1400 providing a paved entrance to the street area. |
