Show Coleman Firm Prexy Addresses Utah Conference Future industrial growth for Cedar City and Utah received solid encouragement from one of the state's most recent corporate cor-porate citizens. Sheldon Coleman, Cole-man, president of the Coleman Company of Wichita, Kan., told a luncheon meeting Wednesday Wed-nesday in Salt Lake City: "We are proud to be a part of Utah. It is our intention to remain re-main in this state and to assist, as-sist, as well as share, in its economic growth." I Reasons for Establishment Coleman left no doubts as to why his firm came to the state or the reason they have increased their financial com-1 mittmont to the area. "It was exploration for new opportunities opportun-ities that brought us to Utah and has lead to a subsequent, additional investment in Cedar Ce-dar City," he told those in attendance at-tendance at the Annual State Economic Development . Conference. Con-ference. Providing unusual impact for his comment was the company's com-pany's recent annuoncement of a 52,000 sq. ft. addition to their existing southern Utah facility. When completed, Coleman will occupy a plant covering more than three acres, with employment in ex cess of 225 and an annual payroll pay-roll exceeding SI million. Giant Strides in Industry It is the outdoor recreation equipment division of the diversified di-versified manufacturer that will supply economic opportunity oppor-tunity for the state. Citing an amazing variety of facts to demonstrate the foundation for his company's belief in the future potential of that area, Coleman had words of praise for the people of Utah. "When we came to Utah 21 months ago, we had never been in the tent and sleeping bag business. Today, we are number two in the industry, the only company with a nationally na-tionally sold branded line. The industriousness of the people of Cedar City has helped us reach this position." Coleman said. Investment in Tomorrow As a highlight to his previous pre-vious remarks, the Wichita industrialist in-dustrialist concluded: "The industries that have established establish-ed themselves in this state have made an investment in the Utah of tomorrow. This is the case with our company, and together we have come a long way in two short years. For Coleman it has been a most satisfying experience, its importance second only to the vision of the potential which faces us in your great state." |
