Show Halterman Family Holds Annual Reunion in Parowan Descendants of George Samuel Sam-uel and Phoebe Madora Benson Ben-son Lyman Halterman, early Iron County pioneers, held their annual reunion Saturday, Satur-day, July 27, in the Parowan First-Second Ward Relief Society So-ciety room and banquet hall. The program for the reunion was centered around the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halterman, Mrs. Bain ("Aunt" Libbie) Matheson, of this community. Mrs. Dora H. Page, Salt Lake City, another an-other daughter of the couple, was present also. She was honored two years ago. Games, dinner and a program pro-gram provided activities for 73 family members who attended at-tended the reunion. Besides those from close by communities, communi-ties, those attending were: Mrs. Page, Reta Page Bartell,; Monticello; Joseph Bud Halterman, Hal-terman, his daughter, Marsha, and two sons, David and Ronald, Ron-ald, San Bernardino, Calif.; and Mrs. Mildred H. Smith and son Guy Eugene, and a daughter, Nanette of San Jose, Calif. i A sketch of "Aunt" Llbble's life was written for the reunion reun-ion by her daughter, Florian M. Warby. The sketch and a sheet of pictures from differ-erent differ-erent phases of Mrs. Mathe-sons' Mathe-sons' life and family were handed out to family members mem-bers during the program. The Samuel A. Halterman family will be host for the reunion re-union In 1969. Officers for the coming year are: Clifton Halterman, president; presi-dent; Elna H. Stubbs, secretary-treasurer; Hilda H. Parry, genealogist, and Florian M. Warby, historian. |
