Show ENOCH And MIDVALLEY NEWS Mrs. Veda Matheson Val Dean Williams has returned re-turned home after a year spent in Viet Nam. Val Dean is .the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Williams of St. George, but made his home in Enoch while going to school. He is married to the former Shirley Farrow of Summit. Sum-mit. They and their baby son are living in Enoch for the duration o fhis leave. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gibson and new baby of Pocatello were here recently. They came to get their two older girls, who have been visiting here with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Gibson. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pace and family were in Preston, Idaho, last week to attend the funeral funer-al services held for Amanda's mother, Mrs. Hannah Smith. Mrs. Smith died in Cedar City the previous week end and services were held on Monday Mon-day of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kelsey of Las Vegas have been visiting with Barbara's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pace. Barbara! came to accompany her par-,' ents to Idaho for the funeral" of her grandmother. Ted came the latter part' of the week. They visited here and in New Harmony and returned home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Maxwell Max-well ' and daughter Marlene were in Salt Lake the first part of last week where Louis went to see his doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Maxwell and baby of California visited here for a few days with Leon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Maxwell, and with Leon's brothers and sisters. Mrs. Davis, all of Alamo, Nev., and also Roland Lee's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson of Mas-quite, Mas-quite, Nev. The Enoch Ward Sunday School was in charge of the July 24th celebration, with Jack and Jean Newman in charge of the parade. The Enoch Ward Elders sponsored a party Friday of last week that included all the adults of the ward. The group went swimming at the CSU pool and they enjoyed a Mexican dinner served at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Henry Grimshaw. Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen Matheson have a new baby girl born last week at the Valley Val-ley View Medical Center. Gay's mother, Mrs. Bernard Johnson of Farmington, is here to help with the family. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Jones and two children of Orderville spent the July 24th holiday here. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Murie and family spent a few days in Bountiful last week. .Mrs. LaMar Matheson and daughter Cathy, were Co-Hos, j Jesses at a bridal shower held for Connie Speirs. Connie is heing married this week to Milton Cooper of Ogden. j Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Mathe-; son and famly spent a few days last week at Grand Can-1 yon. Ron and Worth Grimshaw spent the week end here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. j F. H. Grimshaw. Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and family of Phoenix, Ariz, spent a few days in this area. They called to see John's grandmother, Mrs. Cora Murie. Mr. and Mrs. Lehi Wood and family were in Salt Lake City last week where they went to meet their son Val on his return from Austria. Val has .lust completed a mission for the LDS Church. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Grimshaw Grim-shaw have spent the past we.ak here with Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Grimshaw. Also here with Dolph and Maurine Grimshaw were Mr. and Mrs. Kent Terry and baby of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Nelson received re-ceived word this week of the birth of a baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nelson. This is the first child for Carl and Cathv and the first grandchild for Bud and Mary. The Nelson Nel-son family went to Salt Lake over the week end to see the new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lowry and children returned last week from several days spent in Denver, Colo., and Layton, Utah. Mrs. Erma Lowry of Layton returned with them for the remainder of the week. An open house was held in the Enoch Ward on Friday, July 19, for Mr. and Mrs. Roland Ro-land Lee Anderson. Here from out of town were parents of the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and Mr. and |
