Show Forest Service Sells Ten Million Board Feet of Sawtimber Bids were received for 10,310,-000 10,310,-000 board feet of live sawtimber af'the Dixie Supervisor's Office, Cedar City, Monday. Supervisor Jack B. Shumate announced today to-day that Kaibab-Crofts Indus tries Inc. of Panguitch, were the successful bidders on the ten million-foot Robinson Canyon timber sale. The sale area is located on the Powell Ranger District approximately ap-proximately 40 miles southeast of Panguitch. This sale is composed of approximately ap-proximately 3,850,()(X) board feet of ponderosa pine, 3,950,000 board feet of Douglas fir, 2,400,000 board feet of white fir-alpine fir, and 110,000 board feet of Engle-man Engle-man spruce. Mr. Shumate stated that the total to-tal volume in this sale represents approximately 35 percent of the Dixie National Forest's 29,118,000 board feet annual allowable cut for live sawtimber. The Dixie National Forest has sold a total of 19,995,000 board feet of live sawtimber since July 1, 1965. |
