Show Parowan Observing 1 15th Birthdate Today the chapel with the program arranged ar-ranged by the Little Salt Lake Chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. Pio-neers. Following this program old time dancing will be held In the recreation hall with music to be furnished by the Paragonah or- chestra. I In the evening a three-act play will be presented by the Parowan Paro-wan High School drama department depart-ment under the direction of Mrs. Jean Hendrickson. This will be presented in the high school auditorium aud-itorium with no admission charge and everyone invited. Parowan's birthday celebration, celebra-tion, commemorating the 115th year of Us settlement, will get under way at 11 o'clock this, i Thursday morning with a program pro-gram arranged by the Paulina and Elizabeth camps of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. The meeting open to the public will : be held in the Third Ward cha-pel. cha-pel. The program for this meeting will be as follows: Congregational Congregation-al singing, "Come, Come, Ye Saints"; invocation, Mrs. Golda Guymon; vocal duet, "This Is My Country," by Mrs. Helen Whitney and Mrs. Marian Hyatt, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Vyonne Chamber-lain. Chamber-lain. Following these, Mrs. Jean Hendrickson will give a brief history of Parowan, followed by musical numbers by a DUP Harmonica Har-monica Band from Cedar City. Mrs. Delia Gurr will give a reading read-ing followed by musical numbers num-bers from the music department of the Parowan High School. The benediction will be offered by Mrs. Guymon. This program will be followed by a community group luncheon in the recreation hall. A special Invitation is extended to all citizens cit-izens of Parowan over 70 years of age to attend with the DUP camps to serve a free luncheon to these people, also to the outside out-side visitors present. Hot chocolate choc-olate will be furnished to everyone every-one in attendance by the DUP. Following the lunch period another an-other program will be held in |
