Show Thunderbirds Tackle Tough Nevada Southern Rebels in Fieldhouse Ian. 14 Knrlv indications this week were that Jonhson would be back ready to go but Wadsworth was still doubtful and if available could bo extremely weak after his bout with the flu. The Thunderbirdrs individually I have a host of material this season, sea-son, but as a team have failed to jell. In several of their last outings they have started well but have collasped in the final i drive to wind up on the short end. This past week they were out of the contest in both games from the outset and never came back to pose a threat for their opponents. On the basis of this performance, perform-ance, the curont losing record, there' is some speculation that fans may see some changes in the lineup Friday night as the Thunderbirds take on the tough Rebels. With a record of three wins and eight losses the College of Southern Utah Thunderbirds basketball team is liable to see some changes made this week end and Coach Boyd Adams pro-pares pro-pares to meet the Rebels of Nevada Ne-vada Southern University. The Thunderbirds will be at home for a single game encounter encount-er this week after a disastrous road trip to Silver City, N. M. and Phoenix, Ariz, this past week. The T-Bird-Rebel game will be held at the CSU memorial field-house field-house Friday evening at 8 p. m. A preliminary to the game wdll see the Cedar High School Red-men, Red-men, idle this week in league action, take on the CSU freshmen in a game to get underway at 5:30 p. m. The Rebels are another talented talent-ed opponenet in a season of talented tal-ented opponents that makes up the toughest schedule ever faced by the CSU roundballers. During the last week three of the CSU crew were left home with the flu. They included leading rebounder Mel Wads-worth, Wads-worth, team co-captian and guard John Johnson a play-maker play-maker for the squad and Tom Means, a reserve guard. |
