Show Iron Bowl Race Track Readied For Two-Day Program Plans to hold a race meet at the Iron Bowl track In Cedar City in May have been announced, announc-ed, and a group of Interested horsemen have been busy for some time getting the track Into tip-top shape. A two-day meet, featuring both Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds, Thorough-breds, will be staged on Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th, with each day's program getting underway at 2:00 p.m. No horse races have been held In Cedar City for some time, although al-though local owners have been running their horses at tracks about southern Utah each year, and race fans have been support lng meets In other towns rather wholeheartedly. Because of this Interest the group has decided to revive racing here. Announcement has been made that eight races will be run each day, and that special entertainment entertain-ment features will be presented between races. Following the meet the group plans to hold a horse sale and auction that should hold considerable con-siderable interest of breeders from all parts of the state. |
