Show THE INDIFFERENT FEW With Clean-up Week in Cedar City underway it vrould be well for everyone to observe how often the carelessness care-lessness of one or two property owners on a street can ruin the appearance of the entire street. It can then be realized how the carelessencss or indifference of a very -small percent of the people of the community can make he entire city a much less attractive place than it could rbe. Vacant, unused property on which weeds are allowed "to grow and debris collect detract more from the cleanli-sness cleanli-sness and general attractive appearance of the city than iperhaps any other single thing. It is difficult to understand why owners of such prop-erty prop-erty are so indifferent to civic pride and to the effect such carelessness has on the neighborhood. It is hoped that this year such property owners will awaken to the situation and do something about cleaning sup such lots and then keep them clean throughout the year. Old, tumbled down buildings and unkept fences also detract from the appearance of an entire neighborhood vhere they are located, and should be removed or repair-d. repair-d. Neighbors would certainly appreciate the efforts of anyone who would remove any such unsightly buildings or fences. The City Beautificatlon Committee, the Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Oorwnerce and other groups put forth much effort each spring to clean up the city and make it attractive, Smt all their efforts will go for little unless the individual Ioperty owner will do his part. |
