Show Glen Canyon Road Committee Holds Zion Meet Further steps to promote development de-velopment of access roads Into the Glen Canyon area of Arizona Ariz-ona where one of the major dams of the Colorado River development de-velopment program is to be built, was taken Sunday when representatives repres-entatives of Southern Utah civics groups met at Zion Park. The meeting was a follow-up of a mass meeting held last week in Kanab to discuss these problems. Representatives' named at the Kanab meeting met at Zion to begin action designed to brinij cooperation effort for development develop-ment that will undoubtedly ra-suit ra-suit from the Glen Canyon project pro-ject The official title of "Glen Canyon Dam Access Road Corn-mittee," Corn-mittee," was adopted, and the members will study the most feasible routes for access roads into the dam area. Proper road development Is Important if this area is to benefit from the moving mov-ing of supplies Into the construction construc-tion zone. Major purpose of the group is to avoid conflicts among communities com-munities or counties that may tend to Interfere with development develop-ment and perhaps drive the development de-velopment into Arizona. Representatives Repre-sentatives attending the meeting meet-ing indicated that united efforts of all southern Utah groups seems assured. i In the meantime controversy between be-tween Utah and Arizona on benefits bene-fits from the construction period I seemed to have been Indicated at a meeting of representatives ol the two states hejd at Phoenix. Reports from that meeting indicate in-dicate that serious controversy may develop, particularly in the matter of the location of a town-site town-site at the dam and also the development of access roads into the area.
