Show New Seminary Bldg Construction Okeyed. Work Started .Final word of approval for the beginning of construction for the Cedar L D S Seminary has b.-on received this week from church officials, according to Cedar Stake President, Elwood J. Cor- ry- Work In staking out and the beginning of excavation was bo. gun early this week as soon as the "go ahead" was received so that actual construction of the edifice on 300 West Street is now under way. Appointments in connection with the construction work have been made; however, seme subcontracting sub-contracting work has yet to bo let, it was indicated, by the Stake finance committee, I. E. Riddle, chairman. General construction has not been let to a contractor, it was indicated. Leo Palmer will serve as construction superintendent and members of the stake will be able to work out their assessment assess-ment on the building of the project pro-ject similar to the plan useJ when the Cedar Stake House was constructed. Project clerk will be Lyle B. Prince. Although a considerable amout of delay has been experienced In the beginning of construction, it is hoped that all phases of the preparations have been completed complet-ed to eliminate delays now that construction has begun, Corry stated. NEW SEMINARY. This is the architect's conception of the LDS Seminary building which was started this week in Cedar City. Ci-ty. The new building will be erected on 300 West Street, just north of the L D S Institute. It is expected to be in use for the 1958-59 school year. |
