Show NEWS FROM KANARRAVILLE ! By Hannah A. Darls Thanksgiving Day was very quietly observed here with many families having get-togethers and enjoying a Thanksgiving feast. The M I A held a Sadie Hawkins Haw-kins party Thanksgiving night. There was a good crowd and ul. most everyone came in costume. They danced, played games and had light refreshments. It was held at the recreation hall and all report a very enjoyable evening. eve-ning. Ail our young people had a Turkey supper with all the trimmings trim-mings Friday evening in the recreating rec-reating hall. They report a very fine supper which was enjoyed by all. Earl Smith spent the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving holiday in Salt Lake City with his son-in-law and daughter daugh-ter Mr. and Mrs. Ed Malm, anl family. He accompanied another daughter, Mrs. Talmadge McDcn-nough, McDcn-nough, of Cedar City to Salt Lake. J. L. and Ruth Piatt of Salt Lake City were here for the Thanksgiving holiday. They re-turned re-turned home Sunday accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Belle Davis and her daughter Kathy who will visit with her son-in-law and daughter daugh-ter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simkins of Murray, who have a new son. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Davis and small daughter of Wyoming and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Davis and children of Provo spent Thanks giving here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Glade Berry. Mabie Williams spent the week end In Las Vegas with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Brian. I Visitors in town Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Loopes and family. They were enroute to Phoenix, Ariz, to make their home. The Ixxps were former residents of Kanarraville. Mrs. Lena Williams visited in Salt Lake City with some of her children. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Williams and family were visitors in To-i querville Sunday with Mrs. Vil- Hams' sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Stapley. Visiting at the Ivan Davles home were Mrs. Rosena Blake and granddaughter Diann Blake of St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Lalif Wood nnd Sharla of Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hayes and son of Salt. Lake City were here with rela-j rela-j tives over the week end. I Mr. and Mrs. Browning Piatt I and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Piatt and children of Cedar . City had Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I Leonard Davis. Also visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Davis and "Aunt" . Mina Piatt were Mr. and Mrs. I Clair Piatt and family and Mrs. Bonnie Byington and children of New Plymouth, Idaho. Sharen Zohner and Cheryl Williams Wil-liams were visitors in Las Vegas last week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Williams and girls spent the Thanksgiving holiday here and In Cedar City, with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Lor in Robinson' and son Jim are spending a few days in California. Jim has Just returned from an L D S mission to the Southern States. He was called from a ward In California where he resided. Mr. and Mrs. Laron Christen-sen Christen-sen and family spent several days in Henderson with Mrs. Chrlstensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Davis. David Williams was home on a short leave from his Navy base in California. He returned Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Rosco Williams of Annabelle, Utah, visited for a short time with his mother, Mary M. Williams. They were enroute home from a visit !n California with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Haskell and (family of Payson were visitors here for Thanksgiving with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Batty. Mr. Haskell returned home but Mrs. Haskell and children remained for a few days longer. Mr. and Mre. Clayton Williams I and daughter Deanna of Heni'""-son, Heni'""-son, spent the week end with Clayton's mother, Amanda Vvn-I Vvn-I Hams. I Out Junior M-Men played a j game of basketball at Cedar City with a team from Salt Lake City and were defeated 28 to 16. Dell De-ll le Davis Is the coach for our team. Mrs. Phebe Pymr.i and children Donna and Dee of Cedar City were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Williams. Marvin and Jack Christensen and their mother Rosella Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, were week end visitors in Henderson with their son and brother, Dale, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Beckstead and children and Jimmy Watfll were visitors In Salt Lake City over the week end. Dwayne Lovell and Mlchaell Williams were business visitors in St. George Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bladen had their baby daughter christened chris-tened Sunday. Coming from Cedar Ce-dar City to be here were Mrs. L. J. Higbee and Rhea Wakeling, and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bladen and children. Mrs. Higbee's presence here made five generations at church. She Is 95 years old. Mrs. Lei a Cornelius of Hurricane Hurri-cane visited here with her sons, Jim and Jess Cornelius and their families. Spending Thanksgiving Day at the Preston Williams home were Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Wakeling, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crosby of Cedar Ce-dar City, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Williams and their girl. |
