Show Tax Distribution Listed As Deadline Passes At the close of the time tor payment of property taxes in Iron County, a total of 96.22 of the total tax levied for the year had been collected, accord, lng to Iron County treasurer, Clair Hulet of Parowan. Saturday night the county had. received $1.660341.96 of the to-tal to-tal levy of Sl.723,561.87, he said. Already settlements on a tenta. tlve basis to the various taxing units have been sent out. Hulet pointed out that 78 of the property tax in the county Is outside of the cities and towns. Of the total taxes levied a to-1 tal of 76.41 goes to the Iron County Schools and on the basis of a 100 collection they would receive $1,318,598.25. State schools on the equalization program now in effect, receive 2.59 of the taxes and would receive $14,608. 1 25 as their portion of the taxes levied. Combined schools receive a total of 79 of the total property prop-erty tax collected In the county. . Those funds, Hulet also pointed out, are administered by the Iron County School Board and the State Board of Education, respectively. respec-tively. Largest taxpayer in the county coun-ty Is the Columbia Iron Mining Company which this year paid $620,896.71 in property taxes.
