Show PARAGOMAH NEWS NOTES Mrs. uuma Lamoreaux Elderly Mrs. Sarah E. Barton had the misfortune to fall In her kitchen on Tuesday evening of last week. Her hip was badly broken as a result of the accident. acci-dent. She was rushed to the Iron County Hospital where she spent the night before being taken tak-en to Salt Lake City by ambu-lance. ambu-lance. She entered the LDS hospital hos-pital where surgery was performed per-formed on Thursday. She Is reported re-ported to be doing as well as could be expected. Mrs. Melva Barton, the Injur-ed Injur-ed woman's daughter-in-law, accompanied ac-companied her to Salt Lake City, as did Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Robb. Melva remained in the city until Friday, then came home for the week end, returning to Salt Lake early Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Robb took Horace Edwards and young J. Lowe Barton to Salt Lake City Friday. J. Leonard Topham arrived home Tuesday of last week after a third stay in the Veterans hos-pital hos-pital in as many months. He is recovering from a second operation opera-tion and is doing well now. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson Robin-son arrived home from the Iron County Hospital Sunday. Mrs. Robinson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux, are here with them. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham had a number of her brothers and sisters sis-ters visit with her last week. They had gathered to attend the funeral for their uncle, Edmund Stevens, which was held in Par-owan Par-owan on Wednesday of last week. Members of Mrs. Topham's family who were here were Mrs. Violet Squires, Mrs. Ada Hulling-er Hulling-er and Ervin Stevens, all of Salt Lake City; Hilman Stevens of Ogden and Arnold Stevens of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Lois Blood of Cedar City joined them in Para-gonah. Para-gonah. Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot were happy to welcome their daughter Anna and her husband Arnold Mel lor and their baby when they arrived here from. Wichita, Kansas Friday. Mr. Mel-lor Mel-lor has a few days here before going to Reno, Nev., for special schooling until Dec. 6th. Anna will visit here during that time. Jim, Ardell and Nell Talbot were here over the week end from Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Mario Stones and children and the Carlyle Mitchell family were here from Cedar City for the usual Sunday family fam-ily gathering at the D. A. Stones home. The Lewis Limb family was here from Beaver Saturday to spend the day with Miriam's folks, the James H. Andersons. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Barton made a trip to Salt Lake City Friday and Saturday of last week. They visited with the Woodruff Aliens at Provo enroute to Salt Lake. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham reports the arrival of a new grandchild. A daughter was born Oct. 25 to Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Topham of St. George. Mrs. Delores Robinson entertained enter-tained at a birthday party for her son David at the Earl Thrornton home Saturday. A large group of children enjoyed a fine time together. Mrs. Cleo Edwards and her children came from Cedar City for the occasion. Mrs. Eva Bell of Panguitch arrived ar-rived here Saturday to spend the winter months with her daughter, daught-er, Mrs. Iras Jones and family. Mr.- and Mrs. Orin Bell and daughter of Bountiful brought Mrs. Bell to Paragonah and remained re-mained here for an overnight visit before returning to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith and their children of Beaver visited here at the Jones home Sunday and Monday. Recent visitors at the home of Mrs. Bertha S. Topham were Lynn and Florence Nelson of Ventura, California. Mrs. Golda Topham of Rose-ville, Rose-ville, Calif., arrived in Paragonah Sunday to spend most of b week vith her mother, Mrs. Elva Mc-Bride Mc-Bride and brother, Dick and his 'amlly. She plans to travel to Provo to see other family members mem-bers before returning to California. Califor-nia. Mr. and Mrs. James Maxwell of Glendale were here Monday to spend the day with Mr. Maxwell's Max-well's sister, Mrs. Roene Lund nd their mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell. Sunday visitors at the Lund home were Heber and Anna Dee Lund and their baby. Mrs. Vera Gibson and daughters, Beth and Kathy, Mrs. Clare Miller and Miss Zella Webster of Cedar City. Primary Inservlce meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Lula R. Bastian Thursday afternoon. DUP meeting will be held Thursday afternoon, Nov. 16th at the home of Mrs. Mary O. Williamson. Wil-liamson. All ladies of the community com-munity are invited to bo present. Mrs. Helen Morgan of San Diego and Mrs. Lois Blood of Cedar Ce-dar City were visitors at the Topham Top-ham home on Friday of last week. They arrived ar-rived in Paragonah Friday, bringing Bob's father, Clarence Lamoreaux here from Henderson, Nevada. Part of the week end was spent in Panguitch where members of Bonnie's family were together for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner and family gathering. Mrs. LeFevre accompaniod the Lamoreauxs back to California for the winter. Mrs. Linda Green and two small children were here from Cedar City Thursday to spend the day with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones. Young Chrisman Bentley, son of the Rodney Bentleys, has been operated on for removal of his tonsils. |
