Show School Board Members Study Land Preparation A tour of inspection of the grounds preparation for the new Cedar City High School and a finalizing of the final purchase of property for the new building and grounds was conducted by members of the Iron County Board in regular session Monday. Mon-day. In addition to the inspection of work being done on the preparation prep-aration of ground at the high school site an inspection was also made by the board members of work completed on a concrete ditch, curb and gutter recently completed on the west side of the South Elementary School. Finalization of negotiations for the purchase of the Amy Bladen Blad-en estate, to complete the ground purchases for the new high school, was also discussed by the board. The board took formal action In the following matters: Authorized the purchase of pressure grease gun for bus garage. gar-age. Granted permission for the attendance of Tom Abplanalp and Claudia Forsyte at the convention of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum to be held on March 4 to 8 In Las Vegas, Ncv. Authorized purchase of a 40-foot 40-foot deep freeze unit for use In lunch program. Bids were received re-ceived on the deep freeze with the low bid of $1056.50, submitted by Doorman Hotel Supply Co. of Salt Lake City, accepted. Only other bid was the Restaurant Store Equipment Co., Salt Lake City, In the amount of $1120.00. Both bids were FOB Cedar City. Other matters of discussion Included In-cluded a study on the proposed five year training program for teachers. The subject will be on the agenda of the State School Board Association convention to be held In Salt Lake City Thursday Thurs-day and Friday, Nove. 16 and 17 at which all of the board members mem-bers and Superintendent Ianthus "Wright will be In attendance, j A discussion as to the feasibility feasibili-ty of the purchase of a small bus or carry-all for use In Parowan Valley was also held. Quotations will be received to determine the type of unit to be purchased after which a call for bids will be Issued. Is-sued. Authorization was also given for a recall of bids for the removal re-moval of the home located on school property at 47 North 450 West.
