Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mn. Virginia Webster McGARRTS VACATION Their October vacation is over but the pleasant memories linger on. That sums up the feeling of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. MeGarry and son Kenley who Just returned from a two weeks' trip which took them East of Fort Collins, Colorado, and west to Glendale, California. In Fort Collins the McGarrys were welcomed by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. K. MeGarry and grandson Ricky. After having spent several days in Colorado, they traveled to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken J. Jensen in Glendale, Glen-dale, Calif. Uqon returning home word was received by telephone from another daughter, Mrs. David G. Roberts, who is now residing re-siding in St. Louis Missouri, with her husband and four sons. Mr. Roberts is attending the University Univer-sity in St. Louis where he is studying for his PhD. in Social Psychlartry. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS The month was October, the days were varied, and the celebration cele-bration of three separate birthday birth-day anniversaries were combined combin-ed in the form of a Birthday Brunch held at the home of Carmen Jones. Mary Leone Foley and Shirley Cowan assisted Mrs. Jones in planning and preparing the social event to honor three close friends, Bonnie Cripps, Bessie Bes-sie Dover and Ruth Betenson. Guests of the Birthday Club joined join-ed in the fun and Happy Birthday Birth-day expression to make the party par-ty one long to be remember by the honored guests. Having spent a portion of the week with the Claude Smith family, Mont and Salome Hunter Hun-ter accompanied by their son Bayne, returned to the Salt Lake City area where they now make their home. Bayne, who has been employed in Nevada, will spend a few weeks with his parents before be-fore returning to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he made his home prior to his Nevada residency. The daily tasks of housekeeping housekeep-ing were forgotten for a few hours Tuesday evening as Mrs. Richard Winterrose entertained six members of her card club and special guest, Mrs. J. II. Burns. The ladies enjoyed the clever and tasty goodies served by the hostess as they engaged in several sev-eral hands of Pinochle. High score winners, Mrs. Ben Baldwin and Mrs. LaMar Graff, were delighted de-lighted to receive gifts created by the skillful sewing technique of Mrs. Winterrose. Visiting in Cedar City over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Snow. The Snows, now residing re-siding in Grantsville, Utah, where Boyd teaches sixth grade, were guests of Mrs. Snow's parents par-ents and family, the Eugene Palmers. Mrs. Snow is a sophomore sopho-more student attending the University Un-iversity of Utah. On the agenda at the home of Mrs. Bob Reid Friday night was an entertaining evening of card playing. The ladies relaxed from the day's activities to enjoy a few games of pinochle. Mrs. Reid invited Itha Robinson as a j st to participate with regular .ub members in the fun filled affair. af-fair. Zola Duerksen, Marion Rosenberg Ros-enberg and Wanna Hoyle won prizes for high schores and Itha Robinson ended up with the traveling trav-eling prize for the evening's games. |
