Show CSU Music Groups To Present Bach Festival Apr. 25 One of the most significant presentations of the College of Southern Utah music department will be the Bach Festival on Sunday, Sun-day, April 25 at 8 p. m. in the old auditorium on the CSU campus. cam-pus. The vocal and orchestra divisions divi-sions of the department will present pre-sent an entire evening of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. This will be the major music presentation for Spring Quarter. Other productions already undertaken under-taken by the music department this year were the 41st annual presentation of Handel's "Messiah" "Mes-siah" and Verdi's "Requiem." The Bach program will include "Air for G String" performed by the first violin section of the orchestra with full orchestral accompaniment. ac-companiment. The "Ariose" for solo cellist will be played by Carol Ann Jones. Mary Ann Palmer Pal-mer and Janice Lamb will perform per-form the "BhoIi Double Concerto for Two Violins." The CSU Chorale will sing Bach's Cantata No. 4, "Christ Lag in Todesbanden," with Dr. Blaine Johnson conducting. The CSU Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Professor Roy L. Halversen, will provide accom- paniment for the entire program. |
