Members of the team include Doug Ence, Lee Ramsey, Carl Hazel, Howard Savage and Joe Anderson. i I At the conclusion of the league I Ray Lee had scored the high scratch game during the season, a 254, while Lee Ramsey will garner a trophy for the top scratch series, a 623. In the handicap han-dicap division Dell Carpenter had the top single game of the league a 277, while Pete Wood captured handicap series honors with a 677. Southern Association j In the Southern Association league, rolled every Wednesday evening at the Cedar Bowling j Lanes, one of the closest battles' in the remaining three weeks of action will be for the high series honors. Virg Smith and Humbert Rosenberg are both averaging 188 at the present time separated by only 18 pins for total pin count. He has rolled five 600 or better series 1 during the 29 weeks of competition. competi-tion. Smith has a total pin count of 16,393, his top game is 248 and his top series is 672 and he has rolled seven 600 or better series in the same period of time. Meadow Gold, however, still holds the team lead in the league with a 3V4 point margin and Just three weeks of league competition competi-tion remaining. In action last week Arctic Circle bettered their own fust place honors In the High Team series department with a 2824 which included games of 995, 900 and 929. Members Mem-bers of the team are Virg Smith, Dudley Aiger, Dee Cowan, Ernie Humphery and Don Larson. Virg Smith walked off with the top series honors with a 647 Including Includ-ing games of 224, 223 and 200. He was followed by Dudley Alger with a 632 series Including a high game of 232, which was the best game of the week in the league. Other high games rolled irfcluded a 229 by Kelly Guthiel, 225s by Gordon Twitchell, Duke Gordon and Grant Seegmiller; 224s by Dick Crlpps, Mike Hulet and Virg Snith; a 223 by Smith and a 220 by George Fetty. Rainbow League Iron County Lumber still holds a two-game lead over Westside Grocery and a three game lead over Hoyle's Insurance in the Rainbow League after action this past week. ! Virg Smith is the high average bowler of the league with a 185 and close behind is his boss, Grant Seegmiller, with a 184, both are members of the Iron County Lumber squad. Others are Logan Carr, Leo C'ahoon and Mel Adam and as a team they; had the league's top high game and high series, 902 and 2582. Dudley Alger posted the top' series of the week in the league with a 633 effort which included I two games of 225 and a 183. Kent Dover was also over the GOO I mark with a 609 which included ia high game of 221 and also a 202. Other top games included a !223 and 214 by Don Adams and a 224 and 200 rolled by Phil Mr- I SCh1' Guys and Dolls Interest is high in the couples competition and in the past week the high scores by men and women wo-men were as follows: High women's game was a 173 by LaVerne Fetty with Humbert Rosenberg posting the high men's game, a 214. Rosenberg also had the high men's series, a 579 and Alice Hickman had the top series for women, a 449. Monday Night High scores were the order In the Monday Night's Couple com-. petition with some close battles I for high honors. I Evelyn Carr swept the high for women with a 515 series and 202 game. In the men's division Nyal Miller Mil-ler had the high game with a 254 with Rosenberg in second with a 245. Rosenberg came out on top for series honors, however, with a 656, including games of 245, 213 and 198. Dick Wlnterrose was also over the 200 mark with a 613 series with games of 213, 222 and 178. |
