Show Paintings Arrive r n 1 j. vi nimuoi Spring Art Exhibit "It's just like Christmas!" This comment was expressed by members mem-bers of the Art Committee as they excitedly looked over the many packages and crates arriving ar-riving from prominent artists for the annual Cedar City Spring Art Exhibit The contents will remain a secret se-cret and suspense will build until un-til next week when art crews will unpack the paintings and put them into place at the South Elementary Ele-mentary School for the opening, Sunday, April 25. Sunday Program Glen Dale Anderson, chairman of Sunday Programs, announces the exhibit will open with guest,' Dr. Richard Gunn, art department, depart-ment, Brlgham Young University, giving an illustrated lecture. Professor Pro-fessor Richard Van Kagoner, pro fessor of art, Weber State College, Col-lege, will be guest for the second j program May 2. A special vocal recital will be presented for the . final program which will officially offi-cially close the exhibit on May 9. In adilition to the fine paintings paint-ings by the many prominent artists ar-tists from the region, state and national galleries, art patrons 01 the Iron County area will be looking forward to the exhibits of our local artists. Glen Dale Anderson, art Instructor at the Junior high school, will exhibit an autumn and winter scene in oil, plus a spring scene in water color. Gary Hogan, art instructor at the high school, will exhibit two desert scenes, one In oil and one in water color. Local Exhibitor Professor Thomas Leek ot the College of Southern Utah art department, de-partment, will exhibit "Seascape No. 1", "West Temple Mountain", Moun-tain", "Midvalley", "Milieu", and "Pigeon Point," the painting which recently won an award M at the ZCMI Art Exhibit in Salt !
