LoRAE STAPLET ft H N ' I 1 ' '-V: - ' ' k " i v - i iilliilill.- .i -J karl McAllister The "Requiem" of Gabrial Faure, the spring quarter offering offer-ing of Branch Agricultural college's col-lege's music department, will feature LaRae Stapley, soprano of Cedar City, and Karl McAllister, McAllis-ter, baritone, of Panguitch. The concert will be presented Sunday evening, May 3, at 8 o'clock o'-clock in the First ward chapel. The public is invited to attend, free of charge. Miss Stapley has a voice of unusual quality and promises much at this performance of the "Requiem". She studied voice In Prof. William H. Manning's classes and also privately with him. She is now a student of Prof. Blaine Johnson, head of the vocal music department at the Branch Agricultural college, director di-rector of this sacred musical production. pro-duction. She is known mostly for her work in stringed instrumental instrumen-tal music where she has done outstanding service in the community. com-munity. Mr. McAllister came to B A C two years ago and began a major ma-jor in engineering. His voice work has been of such high standard that he has been much use as a solo ncrformpr in rnWpno mnslnl I productions, particularly in the opera "Pagliacci", and will now be featured in Faure's "Requiem". "Re-quiem". An Interesting feature of the Sunday performance will be the narration composed of appropriate appropri-ate passages of the Book of Mormon, Mor-mon, with Mrs. Elaine Southwick as narrator. Miss Rcnce Halversen of Cedar City will play the violin solo parts and Tim Mackerell of Beaver, Bea-ver, and Mrs. Bernella Jones of Cedar City will furnish the accompaniment ac-companiment on the piano and organ. |
