Show Utah Symphony Geared For Banner Year The Utah State Symphony orchestra or-chestra will open its 16th season at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Wednesday, Nov. 2 with Jose Iturbi as the first of several world famous guest artists. The annual presentation of the Utah Symphony In Cedar City by the Music Arts Association will be on Friday, Nov. 18, according ac-cording to M. A. Cowley, presl-! dent of the association. Reid Nib-ley, Nib-ley, pianist, wUl be guest artist for this presentation. Maurice Abravanel, popular conductor, will be back for his ninth season, and most of the members from last year's outstanding out-standing organization will return. re-turn. Ten regular concerts are on the schedule for 1955-56 along with many other concerts In all parts ot the state and also In Idaho, according to David S. Romney. The remaining Itinerary of the symphony at Salt Lake City is as follows: Wed., Nov. 2, Jose Iturbi, pianist; pian-ist; Wednes'day, Nov. 16, Harold Wolf, violinist, and Harold Schneider, cellist; Wednesday, Nov. 30, University of Utah combined com-bined choruses and soloists; Saturday, Sat-urday, Dec. 10, Fredell Lack, vlo-Hnist; vlo-Hnist; Wednesday, Jan. 11, Grant Johannesen, pianist; Saturday, Jan. 1 21, aJl orchestra; Wednesday, Wednes-day, Feb. 2, Isaac Stern, violinist; Wed., Feb. 22, Sally Peck, violinist, violin-ist, and Alexander Schreiner, organist; or-ganist; Saturday, Mar. 3, Reld Nibley, pianist, and Eugene Foster, Fos-ter, flutist; Tuesday, Mar. 20, Jas-cha Jas-cha Heifetz, violinist.
