Show Council Names Judges For City Election Judges of election to preside at the three polling places in Paro- Iwan for the coming municipal election on Nov. 8, were named by the City CouncU at Its meeting meet-ing on Monday night. Judges for election district No. 1 will be Mary Lyman, Cora Ward and Pearl Benson. Judges In No; 2 will be A. Hills Orton, Eutala T. Orton and Bess Miller. Judges in No. 3 will be Arvilla Halterman, Ida H. Smith and Helen Dalton. I Although polling places were not designated, we presume they will be the Iron County courthouse court-house for District No. 1 voters, the pubjic library auditorium for voters In district No. 2, and the Elementary School building for voters in District No. 3. Polls will be open from 7 a. am to 7 p. m. on election day, Tuesday, Tues-day, Nov. 8. Hurry Bond Sale In other action taken during the meeting, a decision was made to have City Engineer Tomas C. Adams get the revenue certificates certifi-cates authorized two months ago prepared and ready for sale, in order to pay of the outstanding lng obligations for labor and supplies sup-plies used In the construction of the Paragonah hydro electric plant. These bonds in the form of revenue certificates, in the amount of $80,000 were authorized auth-orized two months ago but haven't hav-en't yet been disposed of. At the request of a delegation consisting of Glen Holyoak-and Edgar Benson, representing the Parowan Fields, the city agreed to cooperate in constructing a new and adequate control works on the east side of the city next to the Bernarr Stubbs property. This action was taken so that high and flood waters can be controlled and prevent a recurrence recur-rence of the flood damage to property in the southwest corner it tYia rltv similar trt that which happened this summer. Sanitation Surrey On complaint of some residents regarding sanitary conditions on some residence property in the city, it was decided that the city health officers make a suivey of these'condltlons and take action to abate them. City work supervisor Max Hen-drlcksen Hen-drlcksen was instructed to clean up the edges of the old city clump group, and run a fence along the side of the dump next to the Tarowan Y road to stop the dumping of rubbish there. The new city dump ground southwest of the city is now ready rea-dy for use and citizens are urged to make use of it in disposing of all rubbish from their premises. |
