Show Broncos Hit Pay Dirt -But Not for Points The Ricks College Vikings of Rexburg, Idaho, emerged victorious victor-ious over the College of Southern South-ern Utah Broncos Friday evening eve-ning in a homecoming game at Rexburg and an Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference football clash. Scoring touchdowns in the second sec-ond and third periods' the Vikings edged out the Broncos 13 to 0. It was the second conference victory vic-tory for Ricks and the first conference con-ference setback for the Broncos in their two I C A C encounters. Coach Bruce Osborne's Broncos scored one touchdown early in the first quarter only to have it nullified with a clipping penalty. On a screen pass Harold Gentry at fullback raced the distance but the penalty was called near the mldfield stripe. Back Again A second Bronco touchdown was nullified by an offside penalty pen-alty in the fourth period. Halfback Half-back Meador skirted the end and raced 55 yards to pay dirt only to be called back on the penalty. On the opening play from scrimmage the Broncos used the pitchout pjay on a quick opener that went for 18 yards, another play that was nullified by an offside off-side penalty. The two teams were evenly matched with possibly the two penalties on the two TD runs spelling the difference in the ball game, according to Coach Osborne. Os-borne. The Vikings scored both of their TDs on sustained drives with Rydalch calling the signals. The first TD in the second quarter quar-ter was scored on a fjat pass from Rydalch that was thrown from 12 yards out. The conversion pn the first TD was good, giving the Vikings' a 7 to 0 lead in their homecoming game. In the third quarter the Vikings Vik-ings scored again on a series of plays on the ground and through the air. The scoring play was on a power play through the middle and the extra point attempt was missed. Coach Osborne praised Leo i Prestwich, a guard, for his fine work at Ricks, both offensively and defensively. He indicated that Lee Carpenter called a nice game at quarterback, with By. ron Rasmussen and Frank Phillips Phil-lips turning In good performances perform-ances on the line.
