Show City Democratic Party Issues Statement TO THE PEOPLE OF CEDAR CITY: The executive committee of the Democratic Party met last week. After making a canvass of possible candidates for City office, it appeared that there were no Democrats who wished to participate on a partisan basis. It will be remembered re-membered that six years ago when the Democratic party was in power it proposed an ordinance to abandon the party par-ty labels and thereafter have two tickets on a non-partisan basis. The ordinance was defeated but the Democratic party is still of the same opinion, that party politics have no place in a city election. The party is taking this position now, realizing that the citizens of Cedar City are entitled to a choice and that citizens will have ample time to name an independent ticket tick-et if they so desire. We will continue to support the Democratic Demo-cratic party on a county, state and national basis, but local isues in the past have sometimes been decided on a party basis to the detriment of the citizens of Cedar City.
