Show Pheasant Hunt Area Limits Prescribed i By Local Farmers Pheasant hunters of Cedar City and the general Cedar City area were informed today of posting of a general game preserve area in the Cedar City north fields by the farmers and property owners. own-ers. The area enclosed by Highway 91 on the east, the Cedar-Lund highway on the west, the north end of the airport on the south and two miles north of the Mid-valley Mid-valley road on the north has ben designated as a game protection pro-tection area by the farmers and will be open to pheasant hunting hunt-ing to those hunters who purchase pur-chase a special "blue pemit" into the posted area. A charge of $1.00 is being made per hunter and checking points will be established in order that hunters may check into as well as out of the area. The area will be patrolled by members of the Cedar City Wildlife Federation who will also man the checking points. However, all receipts fiom the sale of these special permits will be turned over to the farmers in the area. Only shotguns will be permitted permit-ted into the area during the pheasant hunting season and a strict control on bag limits will be made, it is understood. "Blue permits" will be available avail-able at the checking points during dur-ing the season and these points (Continued to Page 12) PHEASANT HUNT (Continued from Page 10) will be locted at the following entrances to the area: Midvalley-' Highway 91 junction; the aiiport road just north of the airport, and the third will be at the entrance en-trance just north of Ray's Cafe leaving from Highway 91. It has been pointed out by those in charge of the area that some property owners within the general area have posted their lands with no hunting signs. "Blue Permit" holders will be permitted into the area but the permits will not allow hunters to trespass on the individually post-jed post-jed property. Also in addition to the "blue permit" the hunter must have a regular license to hunt birds issued by the state game commission. Prior to the hunting season opening, Saturday morning, permits per-mits will be on sale at Endsley's Western Auto store, the farmers point out. |
