Show A F Opens Training Program To High School Grads The Department of the Air Force recently announced that for the first time since World War II, high school graduates have the opportunity to apply for pilot and aircraft observer training, and to become flying officers. In July, the Air Force opened its observer observ-er program to civilians who had no college experience. As of Nov. 1, 1953 the pilot program will also be opened to high school graduates. Previously, an applicant appli-cant for either pilot or aircraft observer training had to possess two years or more of college credits. cre-dits. Now, any young man who is between the ages of 19 and i 26'2 years, is single, is a high school gradute, and is in gowll physical and mental health, can apply for pilot and aircraft observer ob-server training. Veterans may npp:y foi aviation avia-tion cadet training, if qualified, and be immediately discharged if unsuccessful in their quest for wings or a commisison. The non-veteran non-veteran must enlist for a two-year two-year period. For complete information concerning con-cerning pilot and aircraft observer observ-er training, a high school graduate gradu-ate should contact AC Selection Team No. 504, Hill AFB, Utah, Bldg. S-'l(')8, telephone extension 778, or the nearest USA and U S A F recruiting station. AC Selection Team No. 504 will be in Cedar City and St. George, Utah, during the second week in November. |
