Show Parowan Livestock Men Involved In Vehicle Turnovers Two Parowan livestockmen were involved in two separate automobile turnovers last Friday afternoon, and fortunately neither neith-er of the men or the persons with them were seriously injured in the accidents. Vern Mortensen, with his two sons Clifford and Ralph and a neighboring boy, Freddie Nixon, were returning from the sheep herd in Dry Lakes when Vern either dozed or momentarily lost control of the pickup he was driving and it turned over and back onto its whels in the canyon can-yon near the mouth of Dry Canyon. Can-yon. Vern sustained broken ribs and his son Clifford received a badly cut hand. Vern was able to drive the car to the doctor's office here and then suffered a heart attack while Doctor Soren-son Soren-son was taking care of his son's hand. He is improved now and getting around again. That same afternoon Commissioner Commis-sioner Jess Guymon and his young nephew, Jim Guymon were coming to Parowan from Mr. Guymon's ranch across the desert. As they were coming up through Mud Springs canyon a tire blew out on his truck. He was hauling two horses and four cows and with the blowout the animals lurched to one side causing caus-ing the truck to tip over. Fortunately it didn't hurt either eith-er of the men or the livestock and did little damage to the truck, and with some help the livestock was rounded up loaded back into the truck and they J came on home near midnight. |
