Mr. Sherratt, a Southern Utah Power Company lineman, was electrocuted while working on a transformer pole near New Harmony. Har-mony. He was fatally injured as he lost his balance atop the transformer pole and apparently apparent-ly grasped a high voltage line, or as his hand struck the wire as he was attempting to gain his balance. bal-ance. Sherratt and Dolph Grimshaw, another company employee, were nearing the completion of the work on that particular pole when th accident happened. Grimshaw was reported to have gone to the ground and was gathering up the tools that had been used when Sherratt suddenly sudden-ly slumped on the pole. His companion com-panion climbed to his aid and administered artificial, respiration. respira-tion. Lowered to the ground the injured man was again given artificial respiration for some time before he was pronounced dead. Speakers at the services were H. P. Dot son. Garth Sherratt, and Samuel F. Leigh. Invocation was by A. E. Whatcott, benediction by R. L. Durrant and the dedicatory prayer by II. H. Lunt. The musical program included the opening and closing songs, "I Walked Today Whore Jesus Walked," and "May The Lord I Bless and Keep You," by the Third jWard Choir, under the direction of David Castleton; a vocal solo, I "Father, Take My Hand," bv Lu- ana Riddle, accompanied by Ber-nella Ber-nella Jones, and a song. "Oh, My Father," by a quartet composed of George D. and Henry Grimshaw, Grim-shaw, Ivor Jones and Elwin j Armstrong. |
