Show CLUB AMD. PARTY HILITES By Mrs. Therol MacArthur Mrs. W. H. Haines, Jr. was hostess to her Wednesday night club at her home this week. Enjoying light refreshments and an evening of bridge were tho following ladies: Mrs. Virgil Bird, Mrs. Chris Mason, Jr.. Mrs. Adrian Bunting, Mrs. Tony Lambert, Lam-bert, Mrs. Dan Gillies, Mrs. Jack Strate, Mrs. Murray Butler and Mrs. Haines house guest. Mrs. Essie Phillips of California. Mrs. Robert Goodwin was hostess host-ess to the members of her bridge club Wednesday night. Score prizes were won by Mrs. Paul Wood and Mrs. Gordon Sorenson. Mrs. Jack Crosby entertained at two tables of pinochle Thursday Thurs-day evening in honor of her husband who was celebrating his birthday anniversary. Those present pres-ent to enjoy the lawn party were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gentry, Mr. and Mrs. Therol McArthur, Mr. and Mrs. LaNoir Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Peterson. Mrs. Max Robinson assisted her young son Douglas play host to 12 of his little friends Monday Mon-day afternoon to celebrate his sixth birthday anniversary. Present Pres-ent were George Lindquist, David Dav-id Hair, Glade McArthur. Scotty Lambeth, Mike Milne, Marty Lyon, Ly-on, Howard Matthews. Rene Van Landeschoot, Cheryl Hirschi. and Margie and Sherrie Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Felt were hosts at a dinner party Satur- i day evening on their lawn. Following Fol-lowing the full course dinner, outdoor games and relays were enjoyed by the following couples: cou-ples: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petty, Mr. and Mrs. Gel Bawden, Mr. and Mrs. Dixie Leavitt, Mr. and Mrs. Haymer Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Betenson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hafen. The First Ward Young Women's Wo-men's M I A held a summer "Funeree" party at the First Ward chapel Monday evening. Lunch and group games took up the evening. The Mutual officers were in charge of this "fun" event. Members of the Birthday Club honored one of their members, Mrs. Emma Hair on her birthday Tuesday morning at a breakfast snack party. Ladies present were Mrs. Forrest Anderson, Mrs. Grant Taylor, Mrs. Nelson Bulloch Bul-loch and Mrs. Ren Taylor. Members of the Reading Club were entertained this week at the home of Mrs. Florence Hig-bee Hig-bee Friday afternoon, with Mrs. Mildred Sargent as co-hostess. Marian Hahne gave a most interesting inter-esting review of the book, "John Colter," by Burton Harris. This was a story of his years in the Rockies. Seventeen members and three special guests, Blanche Houchen, Emma S. Higbee and Zina Bryant, were present. Mrs. Hugh Cheever entertained the members of her Wednesday night bridge club at her home this week. Twelve members were present for the delightful luncheon lunch-eon and bride. Mrs. Browning Piatt was hostess host-ess to the members of her Mon day night bridge club at her home this week. Special guests were Mrs. Francis Betenson, Mrs. Whitney Jensen, Mrs. Ralph Lamoreaux, Mrs. LaVeda Riddle and Mrs. Pearl Bennett. Score prizes were won by Mrs. Robert Gardner, Mrs. Graham MacDon-ald MacDon-ald and Mrs. Betenson. |
