Show Banquet, Dance Of Alumni Draws Crowd The reunion dinner and dance of the Parowan High School Alumni Association last Saturday was one of the most successful ever held by that organization since it came into being in 1920, according to Kenneth Joseph, re. tiring president of the organization. organiza-tion. Two hundred and fifty former graduates of the school, inelud-Rex inelud-Rex C. Ward, one of the seven to graduate with the first class in 1920, were present at the dinner din-ner at the Five Mile Saturday afternoon. And 320 couples attended at-tended the dance that evening In the high school gymnasium, Mr. Joseph announces. Joseph was chairman of the day's activities and was aided by the following as members of various var-ious committees: Norma L. Hulet, chairman; Margaret H. Knight, Enid B. Mitchell, Beatrice H. Mickelson, Ella L. Felstead, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Benson, Jr., Gilbert Mitchell and LaMon Mactarlane who prepared the food, tables and fed the crowd at the Five Mile; Elna H. Stubbs and Joy W. Orton who mailed out invitations'to the 1100 members mem-bers of the organization, and Ramona Stubbs, who helped to handle tickets for the affair. OfHccrs elected during the dinner, din-ner, to head the association for the coming year are, Lollin I). Orton, president, Marilyn M. Pen-dlPton, Pen-dlPton, vice president; Joan W. Wheatley, secretary; Hazel Jean Rrbinson, treasurer, with Barbara B. Burt, Clarence Benson, Jr., and the retiring president, Kenneth Joseph, as board members. Other Oth-er retiring officcers are Ramona Stubbs, vice president; Joy Orton and Elna Stubbs, secretaries; Kent Mitchell, treasurer; Boyd Mitchell and Carry Bent ley, as board members. |
