Water Tank Work j Progresses As Another Is Planned Work on the new 2,000,000 gal-Ion gal-Ion water storage tank being e-rected e-rected south of Cedar City is pro- gressing on schedule, with 20 of of the 36 feet of tank already in place. The tank when completed will consist of five steel rings welded together. The two bottom rings are each 6 feet high, while the other three are 8 feet. With a diameter of 98 feet, and a capacity of 2,000,000 gallons, the tank will be four times as ( large as the nearby old tank of i 500,000 gallons. I Piping from the springs to the I tank is such that both tanks will fill at the same time. The runoff run-off pipe from the smaller tank will hook-up to the new tank. Bids are now being called for by the city to construct another i 2,(00.000 gallon tank to ease the i critical water situation. The tank vill be hooked up to the line, coming down Cedar canyon, but no definite location has been selected yet for the tank. Bids on the tank will be opened on Sep-temper Sep-temper 8th.
