Show Interest Centers OnG.O.P.in Primary Election Iron County voters will go the polls on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for the Primary election to choose their candidates for the general election elec-tion in November. Taking primary Interest are the contests in the Republican party, since the only voting for the Democrats will be for the Justice of the Supreme Court. On the Republican ballot the two contests drawing the most interest are for United States Senator and Representative to Congress. Wallace F. Bennett Is being pushed hard by Rue L. Taking much local interest is the race for representative to the State Legislature. Heber M. Sevy, Cedar City, is running against the present representative E. Ray Lyman of Parowan. Other contests for county and precinct offices include: Short term County Commissioner, Doe G. Cowan, Cedar City, vs Jess' Guymon, Parowan; County As sessor, Hillman Dalley vs Ralph B. Piatt, incumbent, both of Ce-'.ar Ce-'.ar City; County Sheriff, Arthur Nelson, incumbent, vs William M. Hills, both of Cedar City, and ( rdar City Trecinct Justice, Alex H. Rollo, incumbent, vs David A. Smith, both of Cedar City. Davis T. Lewis and Joseph E. Nelson are running for Justice of the Supreme Court on the Republican Repub-lican ticket. On the Democratic side of the Primary Ballot, there is only one contest; J. Allen Crockett against Albert H. Ellett, running for the Justice of the Supreme Court. |
